Smart bulbs come in the same fittings as regular bulbs. Common types include B22, E14, E27 and GU10. Choose the fitting that matches your current light fixture, then link the bulb to the Myko app for full control.
Some smart bulbs are suitable for outdoor use. Always check the packaging for an IP rating. If a bulb is marked as weather resistant, you can use it in outdoor fittings such as porches or covered garden areas.
Myko supports a range of indoor and outdoor lighting options, and once connected you can manage them all in the app.
Smart bulbs need a Wi-Fi connection for full app control, but will still work with the wall switch or your remote control (if applicable) if your internet goes offline. Without Wi-Fi (or a remote) you will not be able to change colour, brightness or use schedules, but these features will resume as soon as the Wi-Fi reconnects.
A smart bulb works on its own and does not need a smart plug. If you use both together, you may lose some features. For example, switching off the plug will cut power to the bulb, which prevents the app from controlling colour or brightness.
